Looking After Fruit Trees In Your Garden

Any garden can be made more appealing if you ever plant a fruit tree. It's always a miracle how the once lifeless winter twigs are transformed in the spring into clouds of blossom ready to turn into fruit later on.

The true wonder of the trees is that you will never need magic tricks and incantations to keep them healthy. Maintaining the trees in ideal shape is a result of a few simple processes that anyone can do.

Starting From the Autumn to the Spring

The bottom of fruit trees, especially saplings, need to be covered with durable netting material. This will prevent rats and rabbits gnawing at the bark in winter which they will attempt to do when their normal food items are in short supply.

During winter, sunlight reflecting off the snow's surface area and warming up the trunk of your fruit tree (especially saplings) can damage or kill the tree. Paint the bottom of the trunk using a 50/50 blend of white latex paint and water as a safeguard. The bark of fruit trees can be cracked by cold air and extremely cold winds. Cracks and fissures within the bark are located by harmful insects which then hole up in them and cause a threat to the health of your tree.

When the temperature moves over 4 degrees Celsius, it is time remove tree stump with oil for some spring cleaning. Look after the trees while the blowing wind is not too strong. Garden shears can be used to give the tree a nice design but make sure to keep the crown of the tree clear of growth and to give horizontal branches 10-15 cms space all round.

Precisely cut away any branches that seem to be unhealthy or old and trim any shoots straight after they have appeared. The tree branches that grow out horizontally really should be left uncut as you will be wanting these to bear fruit. The vertical branches have to be scaled back to the same length as the horizontal branches because a symmetrical tree will produce the most fruit.

Watering your own tree is very important. A tree struggling by not enough water is at the mercy of diseases and insect pests during the crucial period when the buds break in spring. Watering will guarantee that you will have plenty of fruit to pick in the fall months.

Use supports to lead the branches so they really grow straight. The branches that develop horizontally must receive the most light, as they will produce more fruits this way. If you want to increase the output of the trees, you can spread them manually using the special devices manual tree stump removal or by linking them one to another using ropes. Even so, it is wise to let the tree to grow naturally until the age of four.

It is important that your fruit tree is pollinated in the early spring when the bloom is out. This process is natural tree stump removal carried out by bees which may be attracted to your tree by using a chemical substance which is used either early in the morning or after sunset.
